“Up here,” Tiran said. I had started to feel pain in my side, and relief flooded my mind at the idea we could stop running soon. We were all in good shape; we had been running at a steady pace for quite some time. I looked where Tiran pointed. We stopped in front of a small stream. My eyes followed it back up the mountain; it wasn’t steep. It would still be one hell of a climb. I looked behind me, I hadn’t heard any crashing footsteps for some time.

“Did we lose it?” Rayan asked between pants, and I looked from him to Tiran.

“Don’t know and don’t care to find out while we just stand here.” Tiran moved through the stream, moving a little to the left. He kept looking up, almost as if he was searching for something.

“Let’s just follow him,” I said and moved after him. The cold water seeped into my boots, and I shivered. Zeus ran through it, splashing me a little. “Hey,” I protested.

“Sorry, water . . .” he said while he trotted toward Tiran, who now stood still in front of a solid wall of the mountain.

I stopped next to him. "Uh, I don’t want to be a dick, but I don’t think we can climb that. We could go—” Before I could point him to the less steep side of the mountain that looked more climbable than this slab of stone, he moved forward and disappeared. “Oh!” I exclaimed when Zeus went through it too. I looked behind me, my men all waited. Flynn just shrugged, and I turned back.

“Come on.” Tiran’s voice sounded just in front of me, and his hand came out of from seemingly nowhere, grabbing my jacket, he pulled me into the wall. I felt the magic rush over my skin when I walked through it. I turned around, seeing my men standing there.

“Nice,” I said. “Come on, you guys. It’s all fine.” They started to move. Cian walked in first, then Averey, who was carrying Liv; they had switched halfway. Flynn and Rayan came through together. I noticed a stone staircase behind us cut out of the mountain. I couldn’t see that far up them. The mountain was huge, the stairs disappearing around the corner of some rocks.
